My grey’s are brighter than your pearly whites
My years more golden than your hair
Why then my friend did you show me your finger
When all I did was care?
I could have been your mom
I could have been your teacher
I could have been your little sister’s music teacher.
We are human, we make mistakes
Be more tolerant and up your stakes
Show more respect is all I ask
For a better future, For a better life.
I was stuck in traffic and pulled over to the side to merge back later. The goal was to unblock the cars making a left. A young adult on a bike seemingly angry showed me his finger as he zoomed past. This poem is dedicated to him.
