Book Review – The Rosie Project

Hey Ya’ll,

I finished reading ‘The Rosie Project’ a minute ago. Can I just say that it was a delightful book. I usually do not get emotionally attached to books of all things, but this one was different. So much so that I delayed reading the book because I did not want it to end. That’s a first …

The Rosie Project (Don Tillman, #1)

I was looking for some levity in my life and picked this one up. Most major sites marked it as hilarious. I must admit I did not find it hilarious, rather sad that someone has to struggle to find acceptance.

Without giving too much away, I will end by saying that everyone deserves to love and be loved, I wish that upon everyone. Hope you find that perfect someone in your life or enjoy the perfect someone already in your life.

** Update:

I realized that this is hardly a book review, no wonder my readers found it uninteresting. I will attempt to answer a question based on the book to see if it changes anything.

Q) Where do you fall on the spectrum between structure and chaos in life? Are you highly rigid in your routines or very relaxed?

A) Hmm, let me see:

I walk Cherry from 8 – 8:30 am, bring her back home and leave for my walk precisely at 9 am. Between 8:30 am and 9, I reach for a fruit (usually a banana because watermelon is an afternoon snack) or Chobani – Peach or Cherry flavored. I am back home by 10:30 am after which I shower and make lunch for the family. We sit down to eat at 11:30 am.

Today, a handyman came by at 9 am. My walk was interrupted by an hour. I decided to make lunch from 9:30-10:30 am and went for my walk at 10:30 and got back at 11:30 am.

So, you see I am a woman of routine.

A fixed routine has helped me navigate these difficult times where everything around me is chaotic and uncertain. My routine brings certainty into my life for which I am grateful. It has been my anchor.

I also realize that I need to be a bit flexible for my own sanity. I need to find a middle path between rigidity and flexibility, something that works for me, such as today. It is okay if things move around a bit as long as they get done.

In case you are curious, we had lunch at 11:45 am today :-P.
