Something borrowed

I know one cannot think of making a snowman in the summer months, but imagine you are making a snowman. You make two huge balls of snow and stack them on top of one another. You place sticks for hands, carrot for the nose, little rocks for the eyes, a peeled banana for the mouth? So, everything on the snowman is borrowed, yes?

If you have followed my blog long enough, you would know that my relationship with my sibling is non-existent and my relatives are all completely useless. Anyway, I was in a weird mental space recently and did not know who to call. I just had to speak to someone to get things off my chest. So, I texted a dear friend and she provided the much needed support. A few months back, I was sick and unable to move and kiddo had to be taken some where. I called a friend and she drove 20 miles just to pick up and drop off kiddo. I could give you a million examples like this when people around me(not relatives) helped me out and checked in on me.

What am I trying to say? If you do not have a sibling – adopt one. If you do not have relatives who would help – make some of your friends, your relatives. Build your own family just like we built our own snowman. Never feel helpless.
